Shanling offers with the M1S a technical and aesthetic evolution of the M1 high fidelity digital player. This S version benefits from an improved digital/analog conversion stage now based on an ESS ES9038Q2M chip as well as an updated Bluetooth receiver in version 5.0. Its appearance is also modernized while keeping its incredible compactness, a real distinctive element of the M1. Thus, the M1S is the ideal companion to accompany you both on the move and at home to offer you listening sessions of incredible quality.
A DAP that fits in the palm of your hand
The first thing that stands out with this Shanling M1S is of course its particularly small size. Designed to follow you wherever you go, without taking up too much space, the DAP measures only 72x69x16mm. As for weight, the M1S weighs only 106g. It will be easily transportable so that you can enjoy your music.
However, Shanling does not make any concession on the ergonomics and integrates a beautiful high definition touch screen of 2.8 640*480px. It will allow you to easily access your music and act on all available parameters. A screen placed behind a curved tempered glass and components protected by a superb CNC machined case 100% Aluminium.
An updated system
If Shanling takes great care with the aesthetics of its product, this desire to offer a product that is both beautiful and easy to use is reflected in the software with the MTouch OS 2.0 operating system. Thus, the interface of the player allows a fast and easy navigation, and an easy access to the numerous features. This system is powered by an Ingenic X2000 3-core processor.
A technology at the service of sound
On the sound side, the M1S integrates an ESS ES9038Q2M DAC. These allow a digital / analog conversion of quality in all transparency. A converter associated with a section of powerful amplification with two RT6863 amplifier chips allowing output powers to 144mW @ 32 Ohm (Jack 3.5mm unbalanced) and 245mW @ 32 Ohm (Jack 4.4mm balanced).
A combination that allows this small DAP to offer an SNR of 118dB, a distortion of 0.0008% and to support sample rates up to PCM 32bit 768kHz, for a faithful and detailed reproduction.
Japanese KDS oscillators
The M1S is equipped with two crystal oscillators 90.3168Mhz / 98.304Mhz and a FGPA SS1712 chip to perfectly control all the data and allow the DAC to perfectly process the incoming audio signal. This is what allows the perfect restitution of HI-Res files.
Unlimited connectivity
While the Shanling M1S has a 3.5mm jack connector to connect it to your headphones, it also offers Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity for a more comfortable use. A Bluetooth connectivity provided with Sony LDAC and Qualcomm aptX technologies. This first technology, the LDAC allows to enjoy in Bluetooth Hi-Res Audio files, up to 24bit 96kHz 4.5Mbps, where the classic Bluetooth would allow only 16bit 44.1Hz compressed. The second technology, the aptX allows it to obtain a transmission with less latency and more stable, to restore a clean signal.
But more than that, the M1S benefits from a bi-directional Bluetooth 5.0. So, if it can transmit to a speaker or headphones, it can also be used as a receiver, in order to take advantage of its amplification and its DAC, from a third party source.
Above all, the M1S can connect to a WiFi network to use AirPlay and DLNA technologies. A 4.4mm balanced jack is also available for exceptional headphone listening.
Bi-directional USB-C
In the same way, this player also offers a bi-directional USB-C port. This one will be able, just like Bluetooth, to receive or send audio data. Ideal therefore to take advantage of the audio performance of the device.
MQA Decoding
The M1S is capable of decoding MQA files and has dual Hi-Res certification; Hi-Res Audio and Hi-Res Wireless Audio.
A battery to follow you everywhere
The DAP integrates a 2100mAh battery for an autonomy of 14.5h in listening on the jack 3.5, 10.5h in listening on the jack 4.4 and 26h in bluetooth listening. Perfect to enjoy your music without interruption during all your travels.
