Lindemann Audio Limetree Bridge II Network Adaptor
The Limetree Bridge by Lindemann Audio was a high-quality network adapter designed to digitally transfer music from streaming services and local storage media at studio master quality to existing DACs or other devices with digital inputs. The new Bridge II improves upon the original by updating the hardware and adding features such as an adjustable sample-rate limit.

LINDEMANN remains true to itself – and relies on a consistent evolution. As we all know, for our “mastermind“ Norbert Lindemann nothing is so good that it can’t be further improved upon. So following the PHONO II, our two Limetree network players NETWORK and BRIDGE also got updated.
Above all, the second generation of the Limetree BRIDGE and NETWORK network players is now equipped with new and better hardware. The Limetree BRIDGE II has been optimized, the NETWORK II has been revised in every respect, i.e. regarding features, ease of use, and sound (a list of the new features can be found below). Deliveries of the two revised models will start from early May 2021.
Please note: even the “old“ versions will remain outstanding devices in their price range! Future improvements to the software, i.e. the app and firmware (like e.g. new streaming services) will of course be applied equally to both generations. Upgrades are impractical.
Altered functions:
- The sample-rate limit of the output is adjustable in three steps: 48 kHz / 96 kHz / 192 kHz.
- Two re-sampling modes: Native and Up-sampling. With Native the input sample-rate is not changed or (depending on the selected maximum sample-rate) divided by 2 or 4. With Up-sampling the input sample-rate is upscaled to the highest possible value, i.e. multiplied by 1, 2 or 4.
- The support of DSD data has been ceased. If a conversion of DSD files into PCM is wanted, it should be done already using the playback software, e.g. Roon, Audirvana, J.River and others.
The Limetree BRIDGE is a high-quality network adapter designed to transfer music from streaming services and local storage media digitally in studio master quality to existing D/A converters or other devices with digital inputs. This makes it possible to upgrade an existing hi-fi system with streaming for little money.
For this purpose, the Limetree BRIDGE is simply connected with the network by means of a LAN cable or via WLAN. It has also a USB port for connecting hard disks or USB storage media. There is an optical and coaxial digital output. A professional studio engineering sample rate converter makes sure that all streamed formats can be played back on an existing converter without major losses in sound quality.

The Lindemann app
The Limetree NETWORK is controlled almost exclusively via the newly designed Lindemann app which is available both for Android and iOS. Apart from the smartphone version, there is also a proprietary tablet version in landscape mode. The app allows fluent, intuitive browsing and searching. A new feature is the simultaneous display of browse view and play view. In addition, you can also call up your current play queue. The album-oriented programming allows the playback of a complete album with just one push of a button!
In addition, the specially integrated multi-room function also allows you to run several streamers in different rooms separately or coupled. The range of streaming services is diversified, with a clear focus on studio master quality and hi-fi subscriptions. Customers may choose between TIDAL, Qobuz, Deezer, HighResAudio and Spotify. Through Lindemann’s partner airable you will also get access to thousands of podcasts and radio stations worldwide.

Explicatii in ceea ce priveste rodajul echipamentelor, cat si al cablurilor, asezarea optima a echipamentelor in camera de auditie, importanta acusticii camerei si nu in ultimul rand sistemul de alimentare a intregului echipament:
PENTRU BOXE:
- Pentru performante optime este necesara pozitionarea boxelor la o distanta de minim 30-40cm de peretele din spate pentru boxele cu bass-reflex in spate, pentru cele cu bass-reflex in fata, recomandam pozitionarea la o distanta de 10-20cm fata de peretele din spate, dar totodata la o distanta de cel putin 50cm fata de peretii laterali. Tineti cont de faptul ca orice piesa de mobilier din incapere, joaca rol de absorbtie fonica, dar si de difuzie fonica daca acestea din urma sunt din materiale ceramica sau oglinzi, geamuri sau alt material reflectorizant. - Boxele vor ajunge sa functioneze in parametrii recomandati de producator, dupa minim 50 de ore (ideal 100 ore) de functionare la volum mediu. In aceasta perioada de timp, de “rodaj a boxelor”, sunetul va fi la inceput mai artificial, bass-ul nu va fi inca controlat, inaltele rigide iar vocile usor retinute, pe masura ce boxele vor functiona, veti remarca cum bas-ul devine mai controlat, mai prezent si mai voluminos, vocile si sunetele medii devin naturale si mai echilibrate, iar inaltele devin rafinate si detaliate. Exista boxe care necesita un „rodaj” mai amplu de minim 300 de ore mai ales in cazul celor care au difuzoare de kevlar, carbon sau alte materiale de acest tip. Boxele care se „rodeaza” cel mai repede sunt cele care au difuzoare de celuloza.

PENTRU AMPLIFICATOARE, DAC-URI, PREAMPLIFICATOARE, RECEIVER STEREO & HOME CINEMA, SURSE DIGITALE AUDIO-VIDEO:
- Pentru performante optime este necesar „rodarea” echipamentului, In functie de complexitatea componentelor din aparatul dumneavoastra acesta poate dura intre 30-200 ore.
- Rodajul se face la volum minim, fiind astfel suficient faptul ca acesta este alimentat corect conform manualului de utilizare la 220-230 Volti si trece semnal audio sau video dupa caz prin el.
- Echipamentul supus „rodajului” va ajunge sa functioneze in parametrii recomandati de producator, dupa perioada mai sus mentionata. In aceasta perioada de timp, de “rodaj”, sunetul va fi la inceput ceva mai artificial, bass-ul nu va fi inca controlat, inaltele rigide iar vocile usor retinute, pe masura ce echipamentul va functiona, veti remarca cum bas-ul devine mai controlat, mai prezent si mai voluminos, vocile si sunetele medii devin naturale si mai echilibrate, iar inaltele devin rafinate si detaliate.
- In ceea ce priveste echipamentul video precum videoproiector, TV, media player, blueray player, necesita un "rodaj" de cel putin 50 de ore. Lipsa acestuia nu va poate oferi maxim de performanta. "Rodajul" se efectueaza prin simpla utilizare a acestuia, intr-un mod conform specificatiilor mentionate de producator.
PENTRU CABLURI:
- Pentru performante optime este necesara „rodarea” cablurilor, In functie de complexitatea conductorului folosit, cat si geometriei acestuia, „rodajul” poate dura intre 30-100 ore.
- Rodajul se face la volum minim, fiind astfel suficient faptul ca va trece semnal audio sau video dupa caz prin el.
- Cablul supus „rodajului” va ajunge sa functioneze in parametrii recomandati de producator, dupa perioada mai sus mentionata.
